"Friendship is a two way street."

As we get older, friendships evolve/change. I am ok with my friendships changing, I get it. We are all busy with work, signifcant others, hobbies, kids, etc. I like to use my ride to and from work as my phone a friend time, I have 30 minutes each way to talk and catch up, I am not asking for all 30 minutes but a quick hello and catch up every now and again is nice and keeps me in the loop. When I get home from work, the last think I want to do is chat on the phone, I have been on it all day and now I am home, I need to be working out, cooking dinner, hanging with the pups, or just watching uninterrupted dvr.

I have seen what happens when I don't make the effort and make the calls: nothing. Or I make the calls, leave the message and get no response. I cannot keep putting in 100% and getting 10% in return.

Thanks for listening.

Tasty Tuesday

Hamburger Steaks

Ingredients

·                         Ground Beef (can use lean, ground chuck, etc)

·                         1 Cup Beef Broth

·                         All Purpose Flour

·                         Vidalia or other sweet onion, sliced

Instructions

Heat one or two tablespoons of oil in a large nonstick skillet. Press ground beef into doughnut shaped patties (the hole in the center will allow it to cook more evenly and will fill in as they shrink during cooking). Dip each patty into flour on both sides and place in hot skillet over medium heat. Cook for a few minutes on each side, until browned. Scoot patties to one side and add onions to skillet. Stir and cook for a few minutes until lightly browned. Pour in 1 cup beef broth and cover. Allow to cook until meat is no longer pink in the center, about ten minutes.

Monday Funday

I started an alternate work schedule (AWS) 6 months ago, what this means....I work 4 days a week from 7am-5pm. Most  Some couples get to spend their weekends together, I only get one Saturday and two Sundays a month with Mark, so this AWS allowed 3 additional days each month to spend together. We have really enjoyed the extra time!

Starting October 1st, I will go back to a normal schedule working Monday through Friday 8am-415pm, so yesterday was my last weekday off. Mark and I had a GREAT day! I woke up late (8am) and sat outside drinking my coffee watching the dogs run around. Mark got up a little later and together we made breakfast (pancaskes and turkey bacon (its just not the same)). We ran errands and then headed to Clay Escape.

I bought a Living Social deal, pay $10 and get $25 worth of products. Mark and I both picked plates. We had the place to ourselves and took our time creating our masterpieces. I am not creative, artistis or patient so I was not sure this was going to be my thing but I loved it and will definitely go back. We get to pick up our final products next Monday and I will post an updated picture.

Here is the picture of my plate, before the kiln

After pottery we used our receipt to go next door to Maggie Moos and get ice cream. Then we came home and hung with the pups. I pooper scooped the back yard while Mark mowed and then we gave the pups a bath.

We had such a great day, I will miss my days off with Mark but I am ready to sleep in a little and get off before the crazy people leave at 5:00pm.

Steele Creek

We have been in our new house since March. I cant believe its been 6 months! Since moving, we have not really "experienced" Steele Creek.  We have been so focused on paying off some debt/saving money, we have not gone out and seen what the area has to offer.

Today I had to run a few errands:
1. go to the post office
2. drop off at the dry cleaners
3. return to RedBox
4. pick up new print cartridges

I have not been the post office or dry cleaner in this area, I usually go to the ones by work during the week, so I had to do a google search before heading out.

I was able to complete all 4 errands and under 4 miles and 35 minutes. I think I am going to like it here!

New London, New Hampshire (TLV): August 10-18
I rode up with my parents; we left Friday around 6:00am and arrived in NJ at 5:00pm. Had dinner and drinks with a few relatives and then made the rest of the trip Saturday morning at 7:00am, arriving at TLV around 1:30pm. I stayed the whole week and flew home Saturday. It was a great time but I really missed Mark, who was home working and taking care of the pups.
